"Field Service Groups" are more important now than ever before?
by easyreader1970 inthe scare bells are ringing again in the congregations.
this past week, the field service group leader/commander/overlord/whatever made a pretty lengthy announcement that, going forward, the field service groups are going to be of the utmost importance as we wind down towards the end here.
while no indication on when this end might actually be, it was hinted that we might not always have access to the congregation proper and that the few families that are part of the fsg would have to become close knit that they might depend on one another when things get ugly.. i haven't read everything that has passed through the wbts' sphincter lately, but did i miss something?

I agree. It is the same bs I have heard all of my life. In the 60s they changed the name of the book study group to the rendevous and said that it was like your own little congregation so that when persecution came you would be closer. What bull s. Like sd-7 says it is an infinate loop and goes around and around with the dangeling carrot. The sky is falling the sky is falling! I for one am sick of it and will make a change asap. stuck in

getting over a foot today here in New Englang and then ice tomorrow buildings falling down everywhere. My family says that this has to be a sign that the big A is just around the corner. I said MA didn't you tell me that durring the Vietnam War! Blank stare. So sad the desire for a dream but if that makes her happy that is ok I guess, just makes me p off though. stuck in

Will there be cars in the New System?
by laverite ingrowing up as a jw i always imagined the new system (tm) as being just like it's presented in the literature (tm).
i thought we'd all be hanging around with dorky looks on our faces, petting tigers and panda bears all day while we eat fruit and practice our dorky grins.. i've never seen a pic from the society (tm) showing cars or planes (or other forms of transport) in the literature (tm).
what did you imagine as far as transportation in the new system (tm)?

Great information Barbara. As a former elder for many years I know the pain that it causes familys and I am ashamed at how I treated people. I certainly hope what you are saying is happening quickly. Personally if they want to shun a member at the KH that is their privelege but as to shunning family members that is a disgusting thing to do. Thanks NH Knorr maybe you will have been the one responsible for bringing the WT down afterall.

Having been an elder for over 30 years I know that there are many that feel the same way. They are scared to let too much out. Although not an elder anymore I am still afraid because of all I have to lose. People that are really deep in the organization and see the light have it really tough if they have family in. It will take some several years to get completely free if ever. I remember reading of the elder that professed to be annointed and what he went through to get his family out even a lawsuit. So please have patience with us we are really having a tough time of it. stuck in
